How-To: Hanging Wallpaper

Hanging Wallpaper

After measuring your wall cut as many lengths as required allowing an extra 100mm for each length for trimming. For patterned wallpaper you will need to add more than 100mm for trimming. Please see Hanging Patterned Wallpaper instructions.

Put all the lengths face down on the paste table (rough side up). Always start papering from the window working to the darkest corner of the room. Using a plumb bob or spirit level mark a vertical line on the wall, next to the window. Paste the paper from the middle out to the edges, then fold into a loose concertina.

Leave to soak according to the manufacturers instructions. Take the first piece, apply to the wall and smooth from the top edge down, whilst gradually unfolding the concertina of wallpaper. For the tricky fold and corners gradually ease the paper with the hanging brush before marking and carefully cutting. After all cutting is finished proceed to hang the next length making sure you butt the edges all the way down the wall.
